An interaction on Role of Nepal Police and Civil Society on Minimizing and Controlling Drug Trafficking and Addiction from the Society was organized on Monday in Kathmandu. The joint discussion program organized by Nepal Police, Human Rights and Peaceful Society was centered on how to save the youths from using drugs and drug addiction.
Participants and representatives from Civil Society, Parents and concerned body present in the interaction program had shared their suggestion and advice on how to bring the youths involved in drug addiction out and reintegrate in the society.
Stating his view in the program held at the Headquarters of Nepal Police in Naxal, Dr Shambhu Kaphle of HIV/AIDS and Department of Transportable Disease Control under the Ministry of Health pointed that HIV/AIDS and sex related different diseases have gone higher due to use of drugs.
Kaphle added that the disease born from use of drugs is terrific and therefore an early step on stopping the problem was a must. Saying that the government has started different programs under Health Ministry, Home Ministry including its other organizations to control drug addiction, Kaphle suggested that the steps and measures on controlling the drug trafficking including drug addiction be more effective to end the evil practice from the society.
