Leaders from different political parties including CPN-UML have demanded to withdraw the constitution amendment bill that has been tabled in the legislator parliament.
Addressing a massive mass rally at the Exhibition Ground on Friday, the nine political parties that are representing the parliament including CPN-UML said that the constitution amendment bill registered in the legislature parliament be taken back as the bill was not in the favor of the nation.
Talking at the mass meet, the General Secretary of CPN-ML CP Mainali urged the government to take back the bill so as to abide the directive of Supreme Court. "Even the Supreme Court has ordered that the existing parliament can do nothing on constitution amendment bill," he added," the legislature parliament can not cut off the role of federal parliament.
Therefore, the amendment bill should be withdrawn." Mainali warned the government not to put the bill in discussion in the parliament by ignoring the the directive of the court. If done so, the opposition parties would come with strong counter, Mainali added.
Similarly, Chairman of Rastriya Janamorcha, Chitra Bahadur KC in the same program stated that the federalism was not brought to divide the nation. KC added that Nepali people were in the favor of integrated Nepal.
Likewise, central member of Nepal Peasants Party, Prem Suwal said that no discussion will be done in the parliament because the idea of constitution amendment bill was brought in the direction of external force.
