Kathmandu: Today's hearing on Bharatpur vote counting dispute was postponed until July 17, citing a lack of time.
Justices—Om Prakash Mishra and Purushottam Bhandari, who were scheduled to conduct the hearing, failed to manage time for the same, resulting in the postponement, said Joint-Spokesperson of the SC, Bishwo Raj Poudel.

Earlier on July 7, a division bench of justices Mira Khadka and Anil Kumar Sinha failed to conclude the hearing.

Advocate Tulasi Pandey and CPN-UML candidate for Bharatpur Metropolitan City-19 Gunjan Man BK had filed a writ petition against the Election Commission's decision to hold re-elections in the metropolis-19 after the vote counting halted following the tearing of ballot papers during the vote count. The count was obstructed after the CPN (Maoist Centre) representatives allegedly tore the ballot papers while vote counting under the first-phase local level election in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
