Bhanu's contribution to Nepali literature incomparable: PM

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed on unity among all Nepali citizens for the protection of all languages, literature and culture existing in the country.

Addressing a special programme organized in the Capital City on Thursday morning by the Bhanu Foundation in commemoration of the 204th Bhanu Jayanti, the birth anniversary of poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, Prime Minister Deuba said that Bhanu's contribution to the promotion of Nepali literature and language was incomparable. The role of language and literature is always crucial for the prosperity of the nation, PM Deuba noted. Acharya is Nepalese poet and writer who translated the great epic Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali language.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba paid his tribute to the Adikavi by garlanding his statute. Prior to the programme, a morning procession was held as honour to the country's pioneering poet. RSS
